Let’s Remember That

“This Do in Remembrance of Me.” Jesus’ words traditionally appear on communion tables for everyone in the congregation to see. They come from his last meal with the disciples, when he instituted this memorial.

Among the many things this observance refreshes is that he never asks us to do more than he shows us he is willing to do.

So, taking these emblems today prepares us for any unforeseen challenge that may be on the way this week. That pain, that disappointment, that rejection or loss will be less than what his example of faithfulness demonstrated.

Let’s remember that.
