A Day Like No Other

Today is a day like no other. It commemorates the resurrection of a nationally known teacher publicly put to death by crucifixion three days earlier just outside the walls of the capital city. His empty tomb on Sunday morning marks the tremendous change from extreme grief to boundless jubilation, from devastating disappointment to confident hope, from feeling forsaken to being vindicated, from totally confused to fully aware of what has happened.

There won’t be another day like this one till the resurrected Messiah returns in universal presentation. For the first time ever, someone will appear in the clouds of heaven for all the world to see. He will come to receive his Chosen ones to himself when they will transfigure into their eternal state, where there will be no more suffering and death.

Meantime, we remember his death on resurrection day and strain forward to his return to welcome us above. We remember and await by observing these representations of his given body and shed blood. That self-sacrifice made possible the added measure of joy by contrast at his resurrection and our ongoing anticipation of his triumphant return.
