MAN AMONG MEN

Sunday. The differences between people’s preferences become more acute as we grow into adulthood. But we must always remember that God bountifully blessed us by placing man among men. He thereby made possible a whole realm of happiness in social living. The giving of every good fortune brings the responsibility or receiving it. (Read Romans 14:1-12.)

Monday. Confident people act differently than those who doubt their ability, because people’s estimate of themselves greatly affects their behavior. Likewise, any evolutionists that regard themselves as animals quite likely behave differently from Christians that are aware of their likeness to righteous deity; animals don’t live by moral principles. Don’t imitate those who want freedom for their sins by denying their kinship to God. (Read Proverbs 23:7; Genesis 1:26-27.)

Tuesday. When we become adults, we would give all we own to atone for the cross words and rebellious attitude of our younger years. The determination to be totally independent is what labels us as immature. If we want people to regard us as adults, we have to act like adults. (Read Ecclesiastes 11:9-10.)

Wednesday. If a teammate avoids passing us the ball, we won’t help the game by treating him the same way. Revenge doesn’t accomplish anything anywhere. Our conduct toward others tends to reflect their attitude toward us. It’s up to us to improve conditions by overcoming evil with good. (Read Romans 12:17-21.)

Thursday. What did you want to be when you grew up? Now that you are growing up what do you expect to be when you die? Your occupation determines your preparation, and what you expect to be as a spirit determines your preparation as a man. (Read Hebrews 11:24-26.)

Friday. Does your decision to take part in the activities and work of the church depend on whether your friends will also come or serve? Don’t be a half-hearted Christian that lacks the self-discipline to set the pace in the race for eternal life. If you can’t bear to be separated from your friends now to serve the Lord, don’t hope to be separated from them later when God chooses the ones he’ll reward. (Read Luke 9:26.)

Saturday. As “a man among men,” you naturally tend to do what other people do, but the test of right action is not the opinion of your teachers, classmates, or “steady.” The customs of society must defer to the commandments of God, because people’s dictates can get tainted by ignorance, selfishness, and secret desires. Be “a man among men” by being a God-like man. (Read
Colossians 2:8
.)
