1 Chronicles Chapter 2
1 The sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, 2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin,
Naphtali, Gad, and Asher
3 The sons of JUDAH: Er, Onan, and Shelah by Bath-shua the Canaanitess
Er, Judah’s firstborn, was sinful; so the LORD took his life.
4 Tamar Judah’s daughter-in-law bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.
5 The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
6 The sons of Zerah were Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara—five.
(7 The son of Carmi was Achar, the troubler of Israel, who violated the ban.)
8 The son of Ethan was Azariah. 1 Ch 2:1-8
9 The sons of Hezron were Jerahmeel, Ram, Chelubai, and Caleb.
10 Ram was the father of Amminadab father of Nahshon, leader of
the sons of Judah.
11 Nahshon was the father of
Salma father of
12Boaz father of
Obed father of
13 Jesse father of Eliab, then Abinadab, then Shimea,
14 then Nethanel, then Raddai, 15 then Ozem, then
David 16 and sisters Zeruiah and Abigail.
Zeruiah bore Abshai, Joab, and Asahel.
17 Abigail bore Amasa by Jether the
Ishmaelilte.
18 Caleb son of Hezron had sons by Azubah his wife
and by Jerioth. Her sons were Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.
19 When Azubah died, he married Ephrath mother of Hur.
20 Hur was father of Uri father of Bezalel.
21 Afterward Hezron married the daughter of Machir (father of
Gilead).
He married her when he was 60 and she bore Segub.
22 Segub was father of Jair, who governed 23 towns in
Gilead. 23But Geshur and Aram captured the towns
of Jair from them along with Kenath and its 60
surrounding villages. Those were sons of Machir
Avi-Gilead.
24 After the death of Hezron in Caleb-ephrathah, Abijah his wife
bore him Ashhur father of Tekoa. 1 Ch 2:9-24
25 The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were Ram, then
Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah. 26 Jerahmeel had another wife,
Atarah mother of Onam.
27 The sons of Ram, Jerahmeel’s firstborn, were Maaz,
Jamin, and Eker.
28 The sons of Onam were Shammai and Jada.
The sons of Shammai were Nadab and Abishur.
29 Abishur’s wife was Abihail mother of
Ahban and Molid.
30 The sons of Nadab were Seled and
Appaim; Seled died without sons.
31 The son of Appaim was Ishi
father of Sheshan father of Ahlai.
32 The sons of Jada brother of Shammai were Jether
and Jonathan. Jether died without sons.
33 The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza.
Those were the descendants of Jarahmeel. 1 Ch 2:25-33
34 Sheshan had only daughters. He had an Egyptian servant named Jarha. 35 He gave his daughter to Jarha in marriage, and she bore 36 Attai father of Nathan father of 37 Zabad father of Ephlal father of 38 Obed father of Jehu father of 39 Azariah father of Helez father of 40 Eleasah father of Sismai father of 41 Shallum father of Jekamiah father of Elishama. 1 Ch 2:34-41
42 The sons of Caleb, brother of Jerahmeel, were Mesha, his
firstborn, father of Ziph father of Mareshah father of Hebron.
43 The sons of Hebron were Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and
Shema.
44 Shema was father of Raham father of Jorkeam.
Rekem was father of Shammai 45 father of Maon
father of Beth-zur. 1 Ch 2:42-45
46 Caleb’s concubine Ephah bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez. Haran was father of Gazez. 47 The sons of Jahdai were
Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.
48 Caleb’s concubine Maacah bore Sheber and Tirhanah, 49 as well
as Shaaph father of Madmannah and Sheva father of
Machbena and Gibea. Caleb’s daughter was
Achsah. 50 Those were the sons of Caleb.
The sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, were
Shobal, founder of Kiriath-jearim, 51 Salma, founder
of Bethlehem, and Hareph father of Beth-gader.
52 Shobal, founder of Kiriath-jearim, was father of Haroeh, half of the Manahathites, 53 and the families in Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites, and Mishraites; from them came the Zorathites and Eshtaolites.
54 The sons of Salma were Bethlehem and the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.
55 The families of scribes that lived at Jabez were the Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Sucathites. Those are the Kenites that came from Hammath, father of the House of Rechab. 1 Ch 2:46-55
