Exodus Chapter 35

Sabbath Regulations

1 Moses gathered the community and said,

“The LORD has commanded these things: 2 ‘You can work for six days, but set the seventh day aside to him as a complete rest. Whoever works on it will be executed. 3 Don’t start a fire in your houses on the Sabbath.’”

Ex 35:1-3

4 Moses told them,

“The LORD has commanded 5 to take an offering for him from everybody that’s willing to contribute:

goat hair, 7 ram skins dyed red, dolphin skins;

acacia wood;

8 olive oil for lighting,

spices for anointing oil and fragrant incense;

9 onyx stones and setting stones for the ephod and chest pouch.

Ex 35:4-9

                                                      10‘The artisans need and make everything I’ve commanded:

Ex 35:10-19

20 The community left. 21 Everyone whose heart and spirit stirred him brought a contribution for the work on the Tent of Meeting, its service, and holy vestments.

22 Men and women brought brooches, earrings, signet rings, bracelets, and gold articles; and offered them to the LORD.

23 People that had blue, purple, and scarlet material; fine linen; goats’ hair, ram skins dyed red, and dolphin skins brought them.

24 People that could contribute silver or bronze brought it.

Men that had acacia wood brought it for any work of the service.

25-26 Skilled women brought blue, purple, and scarlet material; fine linen, and goats’ hair they’d spun.

27 Rulers brought onyx stones and stones for setting the ephod and chest pouch.

28 They brought spices and olive oil for the light, anointing oil, and fragrant incense.

29 Israelite men and women that were moved to bring material for the work the LORD commanded, brought it to him as a free-will offering.

Ex 35:20-29

Bezalel and Oholiab

30 Moses told the people,

“The LORD has appointed Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur from the tribe of Judah. 31 He has filled him with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and craftsmanship 32 to make designs for working in gold, silver, and bronze; 33 for cutting stones for settings, carving wood, and doing all the creative work. 34 He and Oholiab son of Ahisamach from the tribe of Dan, are willing to teach these skills. 35 God has given them the skill to engrave, design, embroider, and weave blue, purple, and scarlet material and fine linen. 1 Bezalel, Oholiah, and every person skilled by the LORD are to perform their work as commanded.”
