Ezekiel Chapter 2

Ezekiel’s Call

¹ “Son of man, stand up so I can talk to you!” ² When the Spirit stood me up, ³ he said,

“I’m sending you to the Israelites, a rebellious people. They and their ancestors have been sinning against me to this day. ⁴ Tell those impudent, stubborn children, ‘The Lord GOD says.’ ⁵ Whether they listen or not, they’ll know a prophet’s been there. ⁶ Don’t be afraid of them or intimidated by what they say, though you’re surrounded by briars and thorns and sitting on scorpions. ⁷ Tell them what I’ve said whether they listen or not.

Ezek 2:1-7

⁸ “Don’t be like that rebellious house. Eat what I’m giving you.” ⁹ A hand held out a scroll to me. ¹⁰ When he unrolled it for me, I could see writing on both sides—lamentations, mourning, and misfortune. ¹ “Eat this scroll and go speak to Israel.” ² So I opened my mouth, and he fed it to me. ³ It tasted sweet like honey.
