Leviticus Chapter 3
Peace Offerings
1 “If you’re offering a peace offering, offer from the herd a male or female without defect. 2 Put your hand on its head and slaughter it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. The sons of Aaron will sprinkle its blood around on the altar. 3 From the sacrifice the priest will present an offering by fire to the LORD: the fat around and on the entrails, 4 the two kidneys in the loins and their fat, and the lobe of the liver that he’ll remove with the kidneys. 5 The sons of Aaron will offer up in smoke the burnt offering that’s on the wood over the fire, an aroma pleasing to the LORD.

6“If your peace offering comes from the flock, offer a male or female without defect. 7 If it’s a lamb, 8 put your hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting. The sons of Aaron will sprinkle its blood around on the altar. 9 From the sacrifice he’ll remove the entire fat tail close to the backbone, the fat that’s around and on the entrails, 10 the two kidneys in the loins with their fat, and the lobe of the liver that he’ll remove with the kidneys. 11 The priest will offer it up in smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire to the LORD.

12 “If your offering is a goat, 13 put your hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting. The sons of Aaron will sprinkle its blood around on the altar. 14 From it the priest will present an offering by fire to the LORD: the fat around and on the entrails, 15 the two kidneys in the loins with their fat, and the lobe of the liver that he’ll remove with the kidneys. 16 The priest will offer them up in smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire for a pleasing aroma.
“The fat belongs to the LORD. 17 It’s an ongoing permanent statute everywhere: don’t eat fat or blood.”
