Psalms Chapter 101

A Psalm of David

¹ I’ll sing about your enduring love and justice,

      and sing praises to you, LORD.

² I’ll pay attention to the way that’s blameless;

      when will you come to help me?

      In my home I’ll walk in integrity.

³ I won’t set anything base beside me;

      I’ll hate what they do who fall away;

      I’ll stay away from them.

⁴ I’ll cast perverse things out of my heart

      and have nothing to do with evil.

⁵ I’ll withdraw from anyone that slanders another;

      I won’t put up with people

            that have haughty looks or arrogant hearts.

Ps 101:1-5

⁶ I’ll focus my attention on the faithful

         to be my friends.

Those who follow the blameless way

      are the ones that will be my servants.

⁷ I won’t let deceivers serve in my Temple;

      liars won’t maintain their relationship with me.

⁸ Each morning I’ll destroy the wicked in the land

      and rid the city of the LORD of everyone that sins.
