Psalms Chapter 122

                                                       A Song of Ascents. by David

¹ It made me happy when they said,

      “Let’s go to the LORD’s Temple.”

² We’re standing inside your gates, Jerusalem,

                  ³that’s built solid and seamless,

         ⁴where the tribes of the LORD go up as required by the Law

                  to give him thanks;

         ⁵the thrones for judgment stand here,

                  the thrones of David’s dynasty.

⁶ Pray for peace in Jerusalem:

            “May they prosper who love you;

                  ⁷may there be peace inside your walls

                  and prosperity in your palaces.”

⁸ For the sake of my brothers and friends,

      I say, “Peace be in you.”

⁹ For the sake of the Temple of the LORD our God,

      I’ll seek the best for you.
