Psalms Chapter 135

                                                                        1Hallelujah!

Praise the LORD;

      praise him, his servant,

         2you that stand in his Temple,

         in the courts of our God!

3 Praise him because he’s good;

      sing his praises because he’s gracious,

                  4because he’s chosen Jacob for himself,

                  Israel for his own possession.

Ps 135:1-4

5 I know the LORD is great,

      that he’s above all gods.

6 He does what he wants

      in the sky, on earth, in the seas and all their depths.

7 He makes clouds come up from the horizon;

      he sends lightning with the rain

      and brings the wind out of his storehouses.

Ps 135:5-7

8 He struck Egypt’s firstborn,

      people and animals.

9 He performed signs and wonders

      on Pharaoh and his people.

10 He struck many nations

         and slew powerful kings:

                  11Sihon, king of the Amorites;

            Og, king of Bashan;

            as well as the kingdoms in Canaan.

12 He gave their land as an inheritance

      to his people Israel.

13 His name lasts forever;

      his renown endures throughout all generations.

14 The LORD will vindicate his people

      and have mercy on his servants.

Ps 135:8-14

                                    15The hand-crafted idols the nations have are just silver and gold

         16with mouths that can’t talk,

      with eyes that can’t see,

         17with ears that can’t hear;

      and they can’t breathe.

18 The ones that make them are just like them,

      everybody that trusts in them too.

Ps 135:15-18

19 House of Israel, bless the LORD;

House of Aaron, bless the LORD;

20 House of Levi, bless the LORD;

you that respect the LORD, bless him.

21 From Zion bless the LORD,

      who lives in Jerusalem.

                                                Hallelujah!
