Exodus Chapter 38

The Altar of Burnt Offering

1 Then he built the altar for burnt offering out of acacia wood: 7½ x 7½ x 4½ft high. 2 He formed horns on its four corners one piece with it and overlaid it with bronze. 3 He made bronze utensils for the altar: pails, shovels, basins, meat hooks, and fire pans. 4 He fashioned a bronze grating under the edge of the altar that reached halfway up, 5 and cast 4 rings for the 4 ends of the grating to hold the poles. 6 He formed the poles out of acacia wood overlaid with bronze, 7 and inserted them into the rings for carrying it. He made it hollow with planks.

8 He created the laver out of bronze with a bronze base, from the mirrors of the women that served at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

Inventory of Materials

21 Those are the items for the Tabernacle of Testimony that Moses commanded for the Levites’ service, as recorded by Ithamar Ben-Aaron the priest. 22 Bezalel Ben-Uri Ben-Hur, from the tribe of Judah, made everything Yahveh told Moses. 23 Working with him was Oholiab Ben-Ahisamach from the tribe of Dan, an engraver, artisan, and weaver in blue, purple, and scarlet material; and fine linen.

Ex 38:21-23

24 All the gold for the work on the sanctuary, including the wave offering, was 2,208 lbs 29 talents and 730 shekels of the sanctuary. 25 The silver from the community was 7595 lbs 100 talents and 1,775 shekels of the sanctuary, 26 a beka per head, for each one that passed by that was 20 years old and up: 603,550 men. 27 The 7550 lbs 100 talents of silver went for casting the bases of the sanctuary and the curtain: 100 bases for the 7550 lbs 100 talents, 75½ lbs one talent per base. 28 The 18 lbs 1,775 shekels of silver, Bezalel went for the hooks and rings for the posts and to overlay the tops of them. 29 The bronze for the wave offering was 5345 lbs 70 talents and 2400 shekels. 30 With the bronze he made bases for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, the bronze altar and its grating, the utensils for the altar, 31 the bases and pegs for around the court, for the entrance to the court, and the pegs of the Tabernacle.
