Psalms Chapter 138

A Psalm of David

¹ I thank you with all my heart

      and sing your praises in front of the mighty.

² I bow toward your holy Temple

         and thank you for your enduring love and faithfulness,

      because you’ve guaranteed your promises

            with the honor your name has.

³ You answered me when I called out to you

      and made me bold with strength.                                    

Ps 138:1-3

⁴ Kings will thank you, Yahveh,

      when they hear what you say.

⁵ They’ll sing about your ways

      because your honor is so great.

⁶ Though you’re high above us,

         you care about the lowly;

      but you recognize the proud from a long way off.

⁷ Though I’m in trouble, you’ll protect me

         and reach out against my enemies to save me.

⁸ You’ll accomplish the purposes you have for me;

      your love endures forever, Yahveh.

      Don’t abandon the ones you’ve created.
