Psalms Chapter 20
For the Choir Director. A Psalm of David
1 When trouble comes, may Yahveh answer you!
May Jacob’s God set you safely on high!
2 May he send help from the sanctuary
and support you from Zion!
3 May he remember your many meal offerings
and find your burnt offerings acceptable.
4 May he grant you your heart’s desire
and make your plans successful.
5 You’ll sing for joy over his deliverance
and hoist your banners in his name.
May Yahveh give you your petitions.
Ps 20:1-5
6 We know Yahveh saves his anointed ones;
he answers them from his holy heaven
with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some nations boast about chariots and horses,
but we’ll boast about Yahveh our God.
8 Those nations will collapse and fall,
but we’ll rise up and stand tall.
9 Give us victory, Yahveh, when we call.
