Psalms Chapter 36

For the Choir Director

 A Psalm of David, Yahveh’s Servant

1 Sin speaks to sinful people’s hearts;

         they don’t respect God at all.

2 They flatter themselves

         that he can’t discover their sin.

3 Their words deceive;

      they’ve stopped being wise and doing good.

4 They devise schemes in bed

      and carry them out in the morning with no qualms

Ps 36:1-4

5 Yahveh, your enduring love reaches the stars;

      your faithfulness is as high as the sky;

         6your goodness as mighty as the mountains;

      your justice as deep as the ocean;

      your provision sufficient for everything that breathes.

7 How precious that enduring love is!

      All humanity finds protection under your wings.

         8They drink their fill from the abundance in your house,

            from your river of delights.

         9You’re their fountain of life;

      in your light they see light.

10 Maintain your enduring love to all who know you,

      your goodness to the godly in heart.

Ps 36:5-10

11 Don’t let the proud tramp on me

      or the sinful shove me away.

12 Let sinners fall where they sin,

      thrown down so they can’t get up.

Ps 36:10-12
