Psalms Chapter 96

¹ Sing a new song to Yahveh;

      sing to him, all the earth.

² Bless him in song;

      proclaim every day the good news that he saves.

³ Tell about his glory the world over,

      his marvelous deeds among the nations.

⁴ Yahveh is great and deserves great praise;

      he’s to be respected more than all gods

         ⁵because the nations’ gods are idols,

      but Yahveh created the sky.

⁶ Honor and majesty lie in him;

      strength and beauty fill his sanctuary.                             

Ps 96:1-6

⁷ Families of the nations,

      attribute to Yahveh honor and strength.

⁸ Attribute to Yahveh the glory he deserves;

      take an offering to his courts.

⁹ Worship him in holy attire;

      tremble at him, all the earth.

¹⁰ Say among the nations, “Yahveh reigns;

      yes, the world is firmly set; it won’t move;

      he’ll judge the nations fairly.”

¹¹ Let the heavens be happy and the earth rejoice;

      let the ocean roar and everything that’s in it;

         ¹²let the fields celebrate and all that grows there;

                  then the trees in the forest will sing ¹³ to Yahveh

                  because he’ll judge the world with justice

                  and its people with truth.
