Matthew Chapter 14

At that [the] time Herod the tetrarch heard the news of-Jesus, 2 and he-said to-the servants of-him, “This is John the Baptist. He arose from the dead and on-account-of this, [the] powers are-at-work in him.” 3 For [the] Herod, having-arrested [the] John, bound [him]ms, and put (him) in prison on-account-of Herodias, the wife of-Philip, the brother of-him. 4 For [the] John kept-telling him, “It-is┘not└lawful for-you to-have her.” 5 And desiring to-put┘him└to-death, he-feared the crowd, because they-were-having/hold him as (a) prophet.

But (the) birthday of-[the] Herod having-come, the daughter of-[the] Herodias danced in (the) midst and pleased [the] Herod. 7 Whence with (an) oath he-agreed to-give to-her whatever2 she-would-ask. 8 And the/she, having-been-prompted by the mother of0-her, says, “Give me here on (a) platter the head of-John the Baptist.” 9 And having-been-grieved, the king, on-account-of the oaths and the-ones reclining-at-table-with (him), commanded (it) to-be-given. 10 And having-sent, he-beheaded [the]ms John in the prison. 11 And the head of-him was-carried on (a) platter and was given to-the girl and she-brought (it) to-the mother of-her. 12 And having-come, the disciples of-him picked-up the corpse and buried it/himms; and having-gone, they-reported to-[the] Jesus.

And having-heard, [the] Jesus departed from-there in (a) boat into (an) unpopulated place privately2, and having-heard, the crowd[s] followed him by-foot from the towns. 14 And having-gotten-out, he-saw (a) big crowd and was-moved-with-compassion over them and healed the sick-ones of-them.

And evening having-come, the disciples came-to him, saying, “The place is unpopulated, and the hour already passed-by. Dismiss the crowd[s] in-order-that, having-gone-away into the villages, they-may-buy food[s] for-themselves.”

But [the] Jesus said to-them, “They-have no need to-go-away; you give them (something) to-eat.”

But the/they say to-him, “We-do┘not└have here except2 five loaves and two fish.”

And the/he said, “Bring them to-me here.” 19 And having-commanded the crowd[s] to-sit-down on the grass, having-taken the five loaves and the two fish, having-looked into the sky, he-blessed and having-broke (them), gave the loaves to-the disciples, and the disciples (gave them) to-the crowd[s]. 20 And all at and were-satisfied and they-picked-up the leftover of-the pieces twelve baskets full. 21 And the-ones eating were about five-thousand men without women and children.

And immediately he-urged the disciples to-get in the boat and go-on-ahead-of him to the other-side, while2 he-dismissed the crowd[s]. 23 And having-dismissed the crowd[s], he-went-up on the mountain privately2 to-pray. And evening having-come he-was there alone. 24 And the boat already was-distant many stades from [the] land, battered by the wind, for the wind was against (them).

And in-the fourth watch of-the night, he-came to them. walking on the sea. 26 And the disciples, having-seen him walking on the sea, were-terrified, saying [that]. “It-is (a) ghost,” and they-cried-out from [the] fear.

And immediately [the Jesus]ms spoke to-them, saying, “Take-courage; I am; do┘not└be-afraid.”

And having-answered, [the] Peter said to-him, “Lord, if you are, command me to-come to you on the water.”

And the/he said, “Come.”

And having-got-down from the boat, [the]ms Peter began-to-walk on the water[s] and went to [the] Jesus. 30 But seeing the [strong]ms wind, he-became-afraid, and having-begun to-sink, he cried-out, saying, “Lord, save me.”

And immediately [the] Jesus, having-reached-out, took-hold-of the hand of-him and says to-him, “Little-faith-one, unto what/why2 did-you-doubt?” 32 And they, having-gone-up into the boat, the wind died-down. 33 And the/they worshiped him in the boat, saying, “Truly you-are (the) Son of-God.”

And having-crossed-over, they-came to [the] land to Gennesaret. 35 And having-known him, the men of-[the] that place sent-out into [the] that surrounding-area and they-brought to-him all the-ones having badly 36 and they-kept-urging him in-order-that they-might-touch the fringe of-the cloak of-him. And as-many-as touched (him) were-fully-cured.
