Revelation Chapter 18

18:1And after these-things I-saw another angel coming-down out-of the sky having-great authority, and the earth was-lit-up by the glory of-him.  2 And he-shouted with (a) loud voice, saying,

         “She-fell! She-fell!  Babylon the Great,

                        and became (a) habitation of-demons

and (a) prison of-every unclean spirit

and (a) prison of-every unclean bird

[and (a) prison of-every unclean] and hated [beast],

            3 because by the wine of-the wrath of-the sexual-immorality of-her

                        all the nations have-fallen,

and the merchants of-the earth became rich

from the power of-the luxury of-her.

4 And I-heard another voice out-of [the] heaven, saying,

“The people of-me, come-out of her

                                    in-order-that you┘not└take-part in the sins of-her,

                                    and in-order-that you┘not└receive of the plagues of her;

5 because the sins of-her piled-up to [the] heaven,

and [the] God remembered the iniquities of-her.

                        6 Pay-back to-her as also she paid,

                                    and pay-back the double-thing according-to the works of-her;

and in the cup with-which she-mixed, mix to-her double.

                        7 As-many-things-as she-glorified herself and lived sensually,

so-much give to-her torment and mourning,

because in the heart of-her she says [that],

                                                ‘I-sit (as a) queen,

                                                and am not (a) widow,

                                                and I┘certainly└will┘not└see mourning.’

8 On-account-of this in one day the plagues of-her will-come:

                                    death and mourning and famine/hunger,

                                    and she-will-be-burned-up with fire,

                                    because (the) Lord [the] God,

                                                 the-One having-judged her (is) strong.”

9 And the kings of-earth, the-ones having-committed-sexual-immortality with her and having-lived-luxuriously (with her) will-cry and mourn over her when they-see the smoke of-the burning of-her, 10 standing from afar on-account-of the fear of-the torment of-her, saying,

“Woe, woe, the great [the] city,

                                                 the strong [the] city,

because in-one-day the judgment of-you came.”

11 And the merchants of-the earth mourn and weep over her, because nobody any-longer buys the merchandise of-her, 12 merchandise of-gold and silver and precious stone and pearls and linen-goods and purple and silk and red, and every scented wood and every ivory vessel and every vessel of-precious wood and copper and iron and marble, 13 and cinnamon and spice and incense[s] and perfume/oil and frankincense and wine and olive-oil and fine-wheat-flour and wheat and cattle and sheep and horses and four-wheeled-carriages and slaves and souls of-men.

                        14 And the fruit of-the desire of-the soul of-you

                                    went away from you,

and all the luxuries and the lamps perish from you,

                                    and they-will┘certainly not└find them any-longer.

15 [The] these merchants the-ones having-become-wealthy from her will-stand from afar on-account-of the fear of-the torment of-her, crying and mourning, 16 saying,

“Woe, woe, the great [the] city,

the-one clothed with-fine-linen, and purple and red

and adorned [in]ms gold and precious stone and pearl,

17 because in-one hour [the] such wealthy was-made-desolate.

And every ship-captain and the-one sailing to (a) place and sailors and as-many-as ply the sea, stood from afar 18 and kept-crying-out, seeing the smoke of-the burning of-her, saying, “What (is) like the great [the] city?”  19 And they-threw dust on the heads of-them and were-crying-out, crying and mourning, saying,

“Woe, woe, the great [the] city,

in which all the–ones having [the] ships

in the sea wealthy by the preciousness of-her, because in-one hour

                        she-was-made desolate.

                        20 Rejoice over her, heaven,

and the saints and the apostles and the prophets,

because [the] God judged the judgment of-youpl of her.

21 And one strong angel picked-up (a) stone like (a) large millstone and threw (it) into the sea, saying,

                          “Thus with-violence will-be-thrown

                                    Babylon, the great city.

Let-it┘certainly not└be-found anymore.

22 And let┘(the) sound of-harps and musicians and flutists and trumpeters

                                    certainly not└be-heard in you anymore,

and let┘every craftsman of-every craft certainly not└be-found in you

                                    anymore,

and let┘(the) sound of-(the)-mill certainly not└be-heard in you anymore.

23 And let┘the light of-(a)-lamp certainly not└shine in you anymore,

and let┘(the) voice of-(the)-groom and bride certainly not└be-heard in

                                                you anymore,

because the merchants of-you were the persons-of-high-status of-

                                                the earth,

                                    because with the sorcery of-you all the nations were deceived;

24 and in it (the) blood of prophets and saints was-found and of-all the-

                                    ones put-to-death on the earth.”
